Renault "Lodgy" family car
After rebranding into a Renault, the Lodgy, like its sisters Logan, Renault Sandero and Renault Duster, could reach in India to fight for a spot in the affordable segments. The Renault Lodgy is based on the Dacia Duster SUV platform. Length 4,498 mm (177.1 in), Height 1,680 mm (66.1 in) and Curb weight 1,165–1,337 kg. Lodgy is available with a selection of petrol and diesel engines that will suit the needs of customers in all the countries where the model is marketed.
Dacia is poised to expand its line-up in 2012 with the release of Lodgy, an MPV which will be available with either five or seven genuine seats.
The Renault Lodgy will undoubtedly cannibalize sales of the Dacia Logan MCV. The Lodgy is the perfect choice for the Asian, African and American market as the rivals are planning new MPVs in the next three years. With the grille moulded around the Renault logo and sharp lines that highlight the sculptured wheel arches, Lodgy provides a preview of Dacia’s new corporate look.
The production of the Renault Lodgy has already started at the newly inaugurated low cost manufacturing facility in Tangiers, Morocco. The car will be available only in left-hand drive from launch, and with a choice of 5 and 7-seater models. Renault Lodgy heralds the arrival of a new generation of Dacia vehicles Dokker & Lodgy 2013, a range that will benefit from attractively designed interiors and modern equipment.
Dacia is going to present the Lodgy at the Geneva Motor Show.
