The current Russian carmaker company name contains semantic pleonasm. AvtoVAZ stands for Avtomobilniy Volzhsky Avtomobilny Zavod. AvtoVAZ is the largest company in the Russian car manufacturer industry and the factory in Tolyatti one of the biggest in the world. It produces nearly one million cars a year. Exports to the European countries began in 1974. In the past it was originally the export brand for the models it sold under the Zhiguli name in the domestic Soviet market since June 1970. All AvtoVAZ vehicles are currently sold under the Lada brand. From April, Lada start to produce Lada Largus The famous Dacia model = DACIA Logan MCV. It is the third time which Russian president Vladimir Putin has launched a new Lada car model. Previously the President drove a Lada Kalina passenger car and tested the Lada Granta.
