Ford launched its new B-Max family car

  It was unveiled for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show as a concept car. The Ford B-MAX is a small MPV with sliding rear doors, and is just 11 cm longer than the Ford Fiesta five door, and is a full 32 cm shorter than the Ford C-MAX. The Easy Access Door System is scalable and could work on a Ford C-MAX or Ford Galaxy MPV and Ford S- MAX. US Automaker Ford will start mass production of the B-Max model in Romania- Craiova City in the first half of this year. A second model of the B class will also be produced located in Craiova / Romania in the future. The styling of the B-MAX continues kinetic design theme and has no B pillars between the doors, giving a panoramic view from inside the car. Additionally, it features rear sliding doors. The Romanian production unit, will specialize in producing vehicles in the Ford- B class. The US- carmaker initially planned to produce Ford Transit Connect in its Romanian factory. The new Ford model signals that Ford is ready to bring the same bold thinking to the small car market.

  It is the first Ford model to receive the 1.0-liter turbocharged three cylinder EcoBoost engine. The new engine produces 118 Horsepower (hp) and reportedly achieves the equivalent of 57.6 mpg. It will feature the PowerShift six-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox, turbocharged direct injection and start and stop system. The gas range includes a less-powerful, 99 Horsepower (hp) version of the 1.0-liter EcoBoost, a 1.4-liter I-4 with 89 Horsepower (hp), or a 104 Horsepower (hp) 1.6-liter I 4 that comes standard with six-speed PowerShift dual-clutch transmission. There are two oil-burning options a 1.6-liter turbodiesel four cylinder engine good for 93 Horsepower (hp) and manages 70.6 mpg, and the 68.9-mpg 1.5 liter I 4 with 74 Horsepower (hp). Dokker & Lodgy 2013 Transmission options are either a manual or dual clutch transmission, both with six speeds. And it noticeably reduces fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. The new B-Max compact five-seat people carrier based on the Fiesta and will slot into Fords range below the impressive C-Max MPV.
